Laurin and Dimitri’s Dallas Arboretum engagement photos embodied the magic of this stunning garden photoshoot location. The Arboretum is one of my favorite places to shoot in Dallas—not only is it breathtaking year-round, but it offers so many beautiful backdrops for any type of session, from elopements to proposals to portraits (read this blog post to see more examples of my work there as well as some tips for planning your own Dallas Arboretum session). 


Laurin and Dimitri came to me looking for engagement photos that captured a high-end, elegant feel. I worked closely with them to bring that vision to life, leaning into the Arboretum’s clean lines, light-filled walkways, and elevated garden spaces while using natural posing and thoughtful composition. I love helping couples feel confident and at ease, especially in a location as versatile and photogenic as this one. These two wanted to feel like their engagement portraits belonged in a magazine—and I think we nailed it.

Romantic Outdoor Engagement Session in Dallas, Texas 

Laurin and Dimitri’s relationship has been almost a decade in the making, starting with a few DMs at Mississippi State and leading to a heartfelt proposal at the end of 2023. Their vision for their engagement shoot was crystal clear: elegant, upscale, classic, and chic. I focused on capturing their natural chemistry in a way that felt refined and true to their personalities—Laurin’s warm energy and Dimitri’s easygoing nature really shined through in every frame. Their style, their connection, and their story were a joy to bring to life.

The Perfect Location for Outdoor Engagement Photos in Dallas

The Dallas Arboretum is one of the most beautiful photo locations in Texas—it’s no wonder it has been called "one of the most romantic places in Dallas Fort Worth." This sprawling garden venue always delivers, whether you’re taking engagement photos, senior pictures, or planning a full wedding or elopement celebration. The contrast of Laurin and Dimitri’s black formal outfits against the vibrant colors of the garden made every shot pop, and the entire space gave us room to capture a variety of backdrops without ever leaving the venue.

Dallas Arboretum Garden Photo Locations

One of the things I love most about the Dallas Arboretum is its versatility—there are endless options for portraits that feel refined, romantic, and completely personalized. We explored several of my favorite corners of the Dallas Arboretum during Laurin and Dimitri’s engagement session—from manicured hedges and fountains to the gorgeous seasonal blooms and lush greenery around every bend. 


Each garden space gave us a slightly different feel while still staying cohesive with Laurin and Dimitri’s clean and classic aesthetic. Together we meandered from the Women's Garden with its iconic reflecting pool and square archways all the way to the secluded Poetry Garden and the grand staircase that leads into the McCasland Sunken Garden. Laurin and Dimitr’s portrait gallery is proof of just how stunning and flexible the Dallas Arboretum can be.
